Why should I use Dello?

Dello crypto payments are a quick, easy, and cost-effective way to transact in crypto with customers without the risk of price volatility exposure. Even if you know nothing about crypto, you can accept crypto payments and receive local currency, reach new markets instantly and eliminate the risk of fraud with no chargebacks or ID theft.

Is Dello only for merchants?

Dello is not only for merchants! Dello is available for merchants and individuals who want to receive crypto payments online.

I have a payment processor, can I use Dello?

Absolutely. Dello crypto transactions may already be available through your existing debit and credit payments provider! If not, we can get you set up with what you need to start accepting crypto payments, including a compatible payment provider and/or POS solutions.

How do I sign up for an account?

If you need POS crypto payments and credit/debit payment processing, please click here, provide some basic info, and our sales team will contact you to discuss your needs and next steps.

Once you’ve spoken with our sales team, or if you just want to accept crypto payments online or via email billing, create your Dello crypto payments account.

How long does it take to verify my account?

After completing the merchant verification/KYC form, please allow 1-2 business days for your account to be verified. In most cases, accounts are verified within 24 hours.

You may be contacted during the verification process if more information is required, in which case additional time may be required to verify your account.

How can I change my password?

You can change your password within the Profile page within your Dello merchant portal.

How much does it cost to sign up for Dello?

There is no cost to register for Dello cryptocurrency payments! You can register and begin accepting cryptocurrency payments in as little as 24 hours.

If you wish to collect payments via Point of Sale (POS), a Dello Tablet is required, which may have an additional cost component. If necessary, we will recommend compatible payment processors to guide you through the process. Click here to get started.

Are there any fees with Dello?

For Dello cryptocurrency payments, there is no cost to register and a 0.1 to 2% fee per transaction.

For payments via bank wire, we charge a small fee to cover the cost.

Payment Tools

What crypto payment tools are available?

Dello pay allows you to collect crypto payments in several ways:

Point of Sale (POS): Dello crypto payments are available via point of sale tablets. The Dello Crypto Tablet allows you to conduct crypto transactions alongside traditional payments.
E-commerce: Send invoices to your customers to let them pay with crypto via a secure Dello crypto payments page. We will also be rolling out web payment buttons and plugins for popular e-commerce platforms (e.g. Shopify, WooCommerce) to make integration simple and easy. Stay tuned!
Custom Integrations: our API allows you to integrate Dello crypto payments into any application. We'll work with you to build a streamlined customer experience!

Payments / Transactions

Do I need special equipment to accept crypto payments?

No special equipment is required for ecommerce payments.

For point of sale, we offer a standalone Dello Crypto Tablet with everything you need to start collecting crypto payments!

If you are just looking to accept crypto payments via the web, creating your free Dello crypto payments account can have you accepting crypto payments in as little as 24 hours!

What cryptocurrencies can I accept with Dello?

Dello currently supports crypto transactions in Bitcoin (BTC), including instant Bitcoin Lightning Network payments. We will be adding Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and more very soon!

How do customers pay with crypto at point of sale?

Enter the purchase amount on your Dello Crypto Tablet and tap "Charge".
Pass the tablet to your customer so they can review the amount and select their payment cryptocurrency of choice.
A QR code is displayed. The customer scans the QR code with any compatible wallet on their device, enters the purchase amount displayed on the screen, and sends their crypto.
The tablet will let you know when payment is approved. Please note: Dello takes great steps to make fast transactions possible, but, due to the secure and decentralized nature of cryptocurrency transactions, please allow up to several minutes for crypto transactions to complete.

How fast are crypto transactions?

To facilitate near-instant POS transactions, we offer Bitcoin payments on the Lightning Network. Please note: to pay with Bitcoin on the Lightning Network, customers must have converted their Bitcoin to the Lightning Network.

Each cryptocurrency has its own transaction timeframe, all of which are outside of Dello's control. In the case of "regular" or "on-chain" Bitcoin (not on the Ligntning Network), 1 block confirmation is required to complete the payment. The time required for 1 blockchain confirmation varies based on network traffic and the fees included when Bitcoin is sent.

Payments received will be reflected within your Dello merchant dashboard after 1 block confirmation. The time for block confirmations to occur depends on the cryptocurrency selected, the network volume at the time of the transaction, and the fee included with the payment.

Why do payments have a time limit?

We limit the payment time to protect you and your customers from crypto market price volatility. If payment is received within the timeframe displayed on the screen, we guarantee that you will receive the exact amount of local currency, regardless of crypto price changes during this time.

If payments are received outside of this timeframe, we will simply return the crypto to the customer and you can begin a new payment.

If time is running low and a customer has yet to send their crypto, simply cancel the payment and start a new one to reset the timer.

Where can I review payments?

You can review all payments in the Payments tab of your Dello merchant portal.

How do I increase my daily/annual transaction volume limit?

Dello adheres to the highest standards of regulation compliance and client protection. Higher transaction volumes require us to collect additional information to verify the identity and nature of you and/or your business.

Settlements (Getting Paid)

What settlement options are available?

Dello supports wire transfers for a small fee. We currently settle to the following currencies: Canadian Dollars (CAD) and US Dollars (USD).

How do I initiate a settlement?

For balances in a local currency (CAD, USD), please confirm that your banking info is accurate and up-to-date. Please note, your balance must be at least 100 USD/CAD to receive a settlement. If you choose to settle via a bank wire, a fee will be deducted from your balance.

When do settlements occur?

Settlements occur at the time of your choosing. Go to your Balances page in your Merchant Portal and select "Withdraw" to initiate a transfer.
